MACCN is a community based network of parents, community members, and other key stakeholders who are committed to providing support for children and their families across Mount Alexander Shire. Our vision of Mount Alexander is as a place where families and children are celebrated; where children feel safe and connected to their community and where their individual talents and contributions are valued.

In 2008 MACCN were successful in the Early Years Awards established by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in the category of “Communities that are becoming more family and child friendly”. The award acknowledged the leadership and innovation of this community partnership that is dedicated to improving the situation of children and their families in the Shire. As the Award Winner, MACCN received a grant to assist in the creation of the Mount Alexander Family & Children’s Services Guide to ensure that families and service providers across the Shire have access to current and relevant information, resources and agencies.

With the aid of funding in 2012 from the Mount Alexander Shire Council and FRRR, MACCN were then able to develop this website incorporating the Family & Children’s Services Guide in a format accessible to all.
